Cantor Paul
Frimark
Cantor
Paul Frimark assumed the pulpit at Ohev Shalom in September
1996. He has become an integral part of all aspects of our
synagogue community through his interaction with the
pre-school, Hebrew school, and B’nai Mitzvah. He joins our
adult choir and also conducts the youth chorale. Nearly every
family in the Ohev community interacts with Cantor on a
regular basis.
Born and raised in the Philadelphia area
he studied as a young member of Congregation Temple Sinai with
Hazzan Nathan Chaitovsky. He continued his Judaic studies at
Gratz High School while attending Central High School in
Philadelphia and Temple University, where he earned his B.B.A.
in accounting. After a long career serving the Jewish
community musically and as a controller for twenty five years,
a desire to assume the pulpit led to a new vocation, with a
life dedicated to the religious and musical aspects of
Judaism. Cantor Frimark returned to Gratz College where he
received his Graduate Certification in Jewish music and his
Master of Arts in Jewish Music in May 2005.
